Maa Shitala
MAA SHITALA
Thou art a maiden with bright visage,
Thee possess three luminous eyes.
Ye hold a bowl, a fan, a broom,
Along with a pot of cold water,
Tis divine as thy appearance.
With a donkey as thy vehicle, ye set out to heal sick children.
Ye art one of billion manifestations of Adi Parashakti.
Thou art the mother goddess,
Who incarnated in the mortal land,
Hearing the cries of thy children.
Thou art the slayer of Jwarasura.
O Bhagavati Shitala,
Bestow upon us thy benevolence,
Once again.
We, thy children art in need
Of thy aid more than e'er.
Cure the illness of millions,
We prithee thee.
Sweep the malady away,
Using thy broom.
Purify the Earth by sprinkling
Thy sacred water.
Resolve our misery,
O Goddess, we invoke thee.
